Aurora Milroy combines lived experience with policy and governance expertise to develop tailored solutions and support for your organisation.

Aurora is a Palyku Aboriginal woman from Western Australia and has worked in senior roles across the Aboriginal community-controlled and higher education sectors. Through her consulting practice, Aurora is committed to delivering strengthened governance and policy innovation to support self-determination among Aboriginal communities. She not only works directly with Aboriginal community controlled organisations to realise their potential, but also helps universities and governments to uplift their cultural capability and develop strong partnerships with First Nations communities.

Aurora brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her service offering. She holds a Masters of Public Policy with Distinction from the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford. She also holds a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours and a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours (History) from the University of Western Australia.

Her professional experience includes a number of senior roles in national First Nations policy settings, including Director of Policy at the National Native Title Council and Senior Policy Officer at the Coalition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peaks. She has also worked in academic and professional roles in the university sector including as Lecturer and co-lead of the Indigenisation of the Juris Doctor Program at the University of Western Australia, and as Manager of the Indigenous Knowledge Institute at the University of Melbourne. She began her career in the Australian Public Service at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, working across central agency functions and Indigenous Affairs policy.

From 2021 to 2024 Aurora served on the Board of Oxfam Australia, a large not-for-profit organisation focused on community development. Aurora has also served as a Director on the Board of her own Prescribed Body Corporate, Palyku-Jartayi Aboriginal Corporation.
