Your organisation

  • My passion is supporting Aboriginal community controlled organisations to realise their potential and deliver outcomes for communities. Strong governance and partnerships, and innovative policy solutions are key to achieving this goal.

I can assist your organisation, at whatever stage of maturity you are at to develop Board and governance capabilities, advocate publicly and with influence on the policies that matter, and develop and achieve your strategic goals.

I offer discounted rates to Aboriginal community controlled organisations and Prescribed Bodies Corporate.

My passion to support the Aboriginal community controlled sector comes from my personal and professional experience. I am a Palyku Aboriginal woman from Western Australia. My family connections are in the East Pilbara and our community gained native title recognition in 2019. Our Prescribed Body Corporate, Palyku-Jartayi Aboriginal Corporation, was established in 2020 and I was accepted formally as a member in the same year. I served as a director on the Board of Palyku-Jartayi Aboriginal Corporation for one term from 2023-2024.

I was born and raised in Perth on the lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people. In my studies and my professional experience I have devoted myself to finding innovative policy solutions to support community self-determination, and better outcomes for Aboriginal people. I have particular experience working with the National Agreement on Closing the Gap, especially developing strong partnerships between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal organisations. I also have skills and experience in a range of other policy areas including Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property, cultural heritage, repatriation, native title, water and education.

  • I can support your organisation to develop inclusive classrooms, and impactful First Nations curriculum as well as training staff in ethical engagement and Indigenous research protocols.

I have a strong background in the training and education sector. I have a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in History and a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from the University of Western Australia. I also hold a Masters of Public Policy with Distinction from the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford.

I co-led the Indigenisation project at the University of Western Australia Law School, delivering inclusive teacher training to fellow academics at the Law School as well as designing curriculum across core units of the Juris Doctor. In addition to my specialist curriculum role I was also a lecturer teaching Public Law and Indigenous legal topics. My teaching practice was recognised with a number of teaching awards, and I co-authored a chapter on Indigenous models of governance. I currently sit on the Board of Advisors for the Robert French Centre for Public Law at the University of Western Australia.

Previously, I worked at the University of Melbourne as Manager of the Indigenous Knowledge Institute. Through this role I developed programs and materials to support Indigenous research including a research grants program and an Indigenous knowledges research library guide.

I also have experience in the executive education space, having worked as the First Nations advisor at the Australia and New Zealand School of Government designing and delivering leadership programs for First Nations senior public servants. I delivered guest lectures in the Executive Fellows Program and the Executive Masters of Public Administration as well as designing the organisation’s First Nations Curriculum Framework.

  • I can assist your Department or Agency to better implement the principles of the National Agreement, develop strong partnerships with community organisations and peak bodies, and transform its culture to better serve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. I can do this through the provision of advice, training, development of frameworks and strategies, brokering of connections and engagements, and review of policies and processes.

My interest in public sector reform and improvement is driven by my passion for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander policy in this country.

I bring advanced qualifications which have honed by understanding of policy and policymaking institutions including a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from the University of Western Australia and a Masters of Public Policy from the University of Oxford.

I got my professional start in the Australian Public Service working in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, including the then Indigenous Affairs Group. In my role at the Australia and New Zealand School of Government I continued to support public sector reform, particularly the development of First Nations leadership in the public sector by designing and delivering the Indigenous Public Servant Forum, and the First Nations Public Administration conference.

My greatest passion has been supporting strong partnerships between governments and Aboriginal community controlled organisations through my roles as Senior Policy Officer at the Coalition of Peaks and Director of Policy at the National Native Title Council. I am deeply committed and experienced in implementing the National Agreement on Closing the Gap, particularly Priority Reform 1- strong partnerships, and Priority Reform 3- systems transformation.
